Ironically I started Day One of the Seven Day Challenge on January 13, I hope that’s not a bad omen. My original post was suppose to be January 1st but I I’m here now and that’s what matters to me most.
My Daily Journal
Day One

Today is the beginning of a new day but I wanted to share how day one of my personal seven day challenge played out. If you just came across this post I strongly recommend reading my last post, Day One of the Seven Day Challenge. It will help you better understand the new approach I took before even attempting the challenge I chose for the next seven days.
Time to Start The Day
It was time to start the day but this time I was ready to go. My feet were dancing away through my first cup of coffee. The energy was building since the time I got out of bed. I could not wait to start the day. All I had to figure out was where to start first. This time my thoughts weren’t scattered because I was too busy trying to organize my day. I knew what I wanted to do but now I had to figure out the best place to start. I have so many options but the obvious choice for me was starting with my chore of the day.
After my first cup of coffee I was ready to get started in the kitchen. The choice was an easy one for me. I am in the kitchen more than any other room in the house. I love cooking and often try out new meals I find on You tube. My daughter is a great baker and follows recipes online. Then I have the daily task of making home made icecaps to save from spending a ridiculous amount of money on Tim Hortons. Of course we can’t forget Mr Feenie whom we consider our service cat. Let me tell you, this cat eats like a king.

The kitchen was actually not too bad. Several cat containers on the counter. It got me wondering why I couldn’t just turn around and throw them in the garbage. Then I came across a bunch of old dish clothes over the tap. Immediately my attentions turns to my daughter. I have asked a thousand times for her not to leave rags crunched up over the sink. Today I’m just happy that I am the one cleaning the kitchen so I know it will be up to my standards.
Once the kitchen was done I sat down to my second cup of coffee and gave myself a little pat on the back. So far my day was on the right path. During my coffee break I remembered an important form I needed to follow up on. This form was online so I decided to complete the form during my coffee break. The second task of my day only took 5 minutes. I’m not sure why I procrastinate when it comes to filling out forms but this time my approach was a little different. I was able to focus on one form with out feeling frustrated about the rest.
Now I am ready for a little self care and I am not a fan of cooking with long nails. They really just needed a good trim. If I were to be honest all that manicure stuff is not for me. Maybe someday when life is not so expensive I can go out for a manicure but they are clean and clipped short. At least I am practicing proper food handling.
Every task I decided to do led me to the next. The morning was almost over and I still had the entire afternoon to fill up my day. As I clipped away at my nails I thought of a great friend of mine. We often get together for coffee and she always has the most beautiful acrylic nails. One day I’ll join her at the salon but today is a great day for some company.
My day was going so well I thought of sharing the good news with my friend. Who better to share it with than a supportive and loving friend. She only lives seconds away and was at my door in minutes. We enjoyed a nice long chat over coffee. We laughed and shared stories from the past right up to the end of the afternoon. I realized I still had one final goal to meet and the day was almost over.
My Seven Day Challenge was a promise to blog at least one post for the next seven days. I hope you enjoyed a sneak peak in my life. Although my day can be busy caring for my daughter my self-care is even more important.
I wonder what plans I will come up with tomorrow. Maybe I’ll bake something special and share the recipe with you.
