It sure is a long weekend and with today being family day and the snow piling up there’s very little to do outside the home. Yesterday I encouraged my daughter to write a poem that describes her feelings. She needed to keep her brain stimulated. After reading her poem I felt the sudden urge to share with you. It’s a bit dark so please be cautious when reading.

I Know I’ll Get Better

As I sit and begin to wonder

Lightning thoughts so full of thunder

Hateful thinking, all loss of hope

Well I ever get better or just learn to cope

Yet hope feels all lost and replaced by hate

I know I’ll get better, It cant be too late

I’ll stay in my room and wait for that day

Until then, all I can do is pray

I continue to encourage her to write down her thoughts but then I remind her to read it again and be creative, maybe a story or poem. She chose poetry.

I love the fact of praying.

poetry is a wise choice. Tell her I love her poem — the words, the rhythm, the message; she has found her voice, now keep writing and sharing 🙂

That means so much. She is definitely motivated to do more.
