Some days I just know it’s not a day to stay in. Brittany and I started our day like any other. We had our morning chat to discuss how we would start the day. I really wanted to bake but unfortunately the sink was full of dinner dishes from the night before. Brittany had low energy and lacked the motivation to do anything. I made several suggestions, Origami, play guitar, organize arts and crafts, wood burning, drawing, writing and the list goes on. Nope, nope and nope. She was just not having anything to do with the day.

Admittingly I was frustrated and was not about to spend another minute in her room. The dishes had to get done but I make it a rule to not rush her into doing anything. We left the room and decided to watch a few episodes of Wife Swap. It’s a show about couples switching places. Brittany rarely agrees to watch tv but she knew it was time to leave her room. We started the first episode when a friend popped in for a visit. Here we go again back in her dark dungeon. I can’t wait until we start smoking out doors again. I opened the curtains and window for some fresh air.

We chatted about the weather, her family and the noises in the building. I really just wanted to get started with my day. After a few minutes, Carmen my friend asked if we were going to Athens Grill for supper. I mentioned Brittany’s budget and told her she had already spent her limit yesterday. Today we agreed not to spend any money. After our conversation she left but only to return 5 minutes later with $40.00 in her hand. She told Brittany if she was to go tomorrow to buy her two Shawarma’s. Chicken wrapped in pita bread with a delicious garlic sauce. Then she mentioned that she could buy herself one and keep the change. Great! I knew that meant we were going out and it was not going to be a debate. There was no way Brittany would stay in as long as she had money to spend.

Finally we were out the door and traveling to the streets of Robertson Road. The pathways were crazy dangerous, I slipped a few times and so did Brittany. Everywhere we walked the snow was lumpy and frozen solid. I could not wait to arrive at our destination. Finally we get through the path only to meat a mountain of snow. Once we got through the long hike we made it to our first stop.

First stop was the OZ store a marijuana dispensary. She bought herself a pre roll and I took the opportunity to snap a few photo’s. There was a beautiful art display painted on the walls that I thought was very well done. Then a nice little buffet table of marijuana to display in the middle of the shop. Brittany is a loyal customer and they always make her feel welcome. She loves to socialize but not for longer than 5 minutes.

The next stop was the pharmacy, I had a few things to pick up and my favorite cones were on sale. Brittany wanted to buy a few crosswords. Unfortunately they only had the old tickets and she was disappointed. I offered to take her to Circle K but only if we avoided the paths and walked around. She agreed and off we went.

Finally our last stop was Athens Grill, I figured we were in the area might as well pick up the Shawarma for my friend. The owner was very friendly as always, I asked if I could take some pics and he was delighted that I loved how clean his store was. Great food and a perfect little place to stop off for lunch if your a fan of eating in. I bought myself one too so I wouldn’t have to cook supper. The dishes were still not done but I was confident the walk would give Brittany the boost she needed.

After scratching her tickets , Brittany went straight to the kitchen and started washing the dishes. As for me I sat and watched tv, the walk was exhausting. It’s a reminder that I’m not a spring chicken any more. Although I never got any baking done, I know there’s always tomorrow.

Thank you for stopping by, I truly appreciate your support on my personal Lifestyle Journey.
