My daily Journal -Part Two of Day Three

I was suppose to have my laundry done two days ago however I had a problem with my laundry card. It was a real mystery but we finally got it sorted out. “Silly me and my poor memory”. I had two laundry cards and some how I grabbed the wrong one. This morning I put my house coat on and there was the second card in my pocket. Unfortunately I was only able to get one load done because my neighbor met me in the laundry room and explained that today was the only time she could do her laundry. At least I got my dish rags done.

Finally my daughter was awake and waiting for me to have our morning chat. I sat down for my second cup of coffee and discussed my plans for the day with my daughter. She always needs a little encouragement to start her day. It was a little early for games so we decided to spend alone time doing what we love.

Brittany has been practicing on her guitar she got for Christmas. She wants to learn the song “Hurt” by Johnny Cash. She’s been practicing since Christmas but I know she will master it by the end of the year. It’s her dad’s favorite song and she’s hoping to play it for him on his Birthday. As long as she doesn’t sing it should be great. I’m always teasing her that she’s tone deaf. As for me, I will be online reading blogs and searching for some delicious recipes on You Tube.

The first video I came across was a You Tube channel by The Pleb. If you like to keep up with politics, you may find his channel very informative. Then I found a great recipe for Irish cream expresso martini by snapchatincursive on word press. I wrote the recipe down so I can enjoy a nice drink with my friend some day. I also love reading about unique lifestyles. Seven Sisters blog was a great read. She speaks highly about her family and they work hard to put food on the table.

Now it’s time to play darts and I know I’ll beat Brittany today. The first few darts did not go as planned, I could not hit the #1 but after about ten tries I finally started playing better. Some times I talk a good game but I don’t always play a good game. Finally I started hitting the numbers and Brittany was quickly falling behind. I won the first game pretty quickly so it was decided we play best out of three. Looks like this time I played a very good game. I won two straight games.

I really wanted to bake some delicious lemon bars but my friend convinced me to make brownies instead. The only ingredient I was missing was baking powder. I searched high and low until I remembered lending it to a neighbor. It’s all good I thought, “I’ll just use baking soda. They turned out great and I got to surprise my friend with a couple extra squares to take home.

The end of the day is near and it’s time to cook supper. The plan to make steak subs did not go will with Brittany, my daughter can be very picky. She hates left overs and only loves chicken. It took some convincing but once I mentioned the garlic Aioli she was all in. The subs were delicious!

Today was not a productive day but sometimes you need to take time out for yourself. I know I’ll have lots to work on tomorrow. Hope you will join me and tell me how your day was.
