My daily Journal-Day Five
I’m Free as a Bird!!!

I’m excited to share how Day Five of my Seven Day Challenge Started. Today is going to be a great day! I’m shaking in my sheets with excitement. My daughter Mallory and I will be spending the whole day together. Mallory has an energy that can bring sun in a room during a winter storm. She lights up any room with her smile. I’m looking forward to a great day and already have my clothes ready for the shower. All I have left to do is wait to hear the sound of my gate opening and I’m ready for a big day.
Mallory finally arrived with her boyfriend and she had already planned out the day. My sister Sandy had a Birthday coming up and I really wanted to get her something she would enjoy. Mallory recently discovered that my sister collects hockey cards. It was perfect and she found a really cool place called Minty Fresh Collectables in Barhaven that had a huge collection of hockey cards amongst other things.
When we first arrived we were not sure how to enter the building but a lovely lady in the pharmacy gave us directions. There was a staircase in the store that lead to the second level. To be honest I felt a little creeped out. Then I immediately felt a rush of excitement when we entered the store. They had everything from comic books to old dragon ball Z cards. If your a collector I strongly recommend this store. There was even a really cool looking guitar standing in the corner.
We asked the store clerk questions about the hockey cards and he was very helpful. It didn’t take long before I found the perfect set of collectable cards. Mallory’s son just started collecting comic books and she had a stack ready to purchase. Then she came across a strange looking bobble head and back to the cash we went. I could have spent an entire day looking through all the cool stuff. What an adventure.

Now it was time to eat and I built up a pretty good appetite. We never sit in restaurants. I love eating in the comfort seat of a car. We parked at Pizza Hut and ordered a large pizza with wings. Than we put our favorite music on and people watched as we ate. I was so stuffed that I kept the wings for home. The buttery crispy crust left me with very greasy fingers.

After we finished eating we noticed a bakery near by called Cobb’s Bread. Mallory bought a few scones to take home but we sampled a piece of one. It was homemade apple scone and so delicious. I had never had a scone taste so fresh. I may try and bake them at home one day.
After a few errands at the grocery store , Tim Horton’s and corner store we were ready to head back to my house. After a good long day I needed a nice hot cup of coffee. We sat down at the table and discussed some of the things we collected as a kid. I loved collecting marbles and Mallory loved porcelain dolls. Brittany already has a huge collection of old school memorabilia. I would love to know if you have a special collection. Tell me about it in the comment below.
I hope you enjoyed the read and you will join me tomorrow for day 6 of my Seven Day Challenge.
Care to Share and I’ll be there
